Last month my family was gifted with a trip down to Texas to spend time with some of our favorite people and meet this sweet baby girl. Introducing, Eliana…

Surrounded in love by her parents and older brother.

Don’t let the yawn deceive you! Eliana was wide awake and alert during our entire session. She didn’t want to miss a thing.

In the blink of an eye, she will be running around with her brother. But, for now, we relish in her smallness, her newness.

This is one of those times that I’m reminded of how much I love what I do and how grateful I am for the people who I photograph. Meet Megan, full of vivacious joy and genuine beauty. I spent some time with her on an August morning in Rogers City, where she will be graduating from high school in the spring. She currently aspires to be a teacher, and I don’t doubt that she will shine, wherever she goes.

At the beginning of this month I traveled up to Rogers City to photograph Tyler and Emily’s wedding, and, wow, I have been so eager to share their day with you all.
Never have I seen a Knights of Columbus hall so beautifully transformed. I’m pretty sure my jaw dropped. Every surface had a DIY shabby chic touch: flowers and lanterns graced the tables, lights and fabric covered the walls, and large prints of their engagement photos hung in handmade frames.
The ceremony highlighted their love for God, for each other, and for nature. The rain –thank goodness!– held off for portraits at his family’s farm. Their reception was jam-packed with people who love and care for them. It was a truly beautiful day, and I was so blessed to have witnessed it and created these photographs for them. Enjoy, friends.
Congratulations and God’s richest blessings on your life together, Tyler and Emily!

Fall is on its way. My teacher-husband is a week away from the First Day of School, a few trees on our street are orange, and this cool morning has me dreaming of scarves-and-boots weather. Fall sessions are hands-down my favorite. So let’s turn back the pages to last fall when I met up with this lovely family (my sister/brother-in-law and their adorable girls) at McHattie Park in South Lyon. Sisters, swings, dreamy light. Mmm… hello fall.

with love,
Abi S
